London changes beautifully with the seasons, and each one brings its own reason to experience the city again.

Spring

Spring is perhaps London at its most elegant. Magnolia trees bloom across residential squares, the parks begin to fill with colour, and café terraces return to life. I recommend walking through Kensington Gardens and Chelsea before visiting the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, held each May and surrounded by floral displays throughout the neighbourhood.

Summer

Summer is made for long evenings outdoors. Hire a rowing boat, enjoy a picnic in one of the Royal Parks or swim at the Serpentine Lido in Hyde Park. For a memorable evening, book a concert during the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, one of London’s most atmospheric summer traditions and the world's most renowned music festivals.

Autumn

Autumn brings a slower, more cultured mood. The parks turn golden, cosy restaurants become especially inviting, and the city’s cultural calendar begins again. October is a wonderful time to explore Frieze London in Regent’s Park, alongside the exhibitions, installations and events held across the city during Frieze Week.

Winter

Winter transforms London completely. Streets glow with Christmas lights, department stores unveil their festive windows, and seasonal markets appear across the capital. Make sure to buy a ticket to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, with ice skating, fun rides, and plenty of festive stalls! For something quieter, I love an evening walk through illuminated Mayfair, followed by dinner somewhere warm.

Whatever the time of year, London always offers a new atmosphere to discover, and a different reason to return.
